WinWon presents the 2024-25 Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Champions of Character individual awards

The 2024-25 Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Champions of Character recipients, presented by WinWon Technologies, were announced before each team’s contest at the postseason tournament on March 2-3, held at Pacific Steel & Recycling Arena in Great Falls, Mont.
Each recipient received a Champions of Character plaque from Frontier Conference’s commissioner Dr. Scott Crawford.
The head coach from each Frontier Conference member selects the recipient that fits to the NAIA’s Champions of Character initiative program’s five cores that include integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
Below are the recipients for the Champions of Character and the comments from each school’s head coach:
Isabelle Erickson – Carroll – Redshirt Junior – Broadview, Mont.“Izzy carries a 3.95 GPA (grade point average) in pre-med. She is a team captain and has been very involved in not only our community service outreach opportunities, but she also is someone who gives 100 percent every time she is on the court for her team,” Rachelle Sayers explained. “She is a selfless leader that loves her teammates, wants to see them succeed, and loves being a Carroll Saint.”“She epitomizes every quality that a Champion of Character represents in the way she approaches her academics, practice, games, and being a leader on and off the court for her teammates,” added Sayers.
Macy Mayer – Montana Tech – Senior – Bozeman, Mont.“She is one of the most dependable and hardworking people I have ever been around,” emphasized Jeff Grahm. “Her ability to balance her nursing classes, clinicals, and basketball is amazing. All the success Macy has experienced is due to the unwavering support of her family, teammates, and friends.“Macy has shown her fellow student-athletes that completing a degree in nursing while playing basketball at Montana Tech is possible,” added Graham. “Macy Mayer defines the term student-athlete. Her dedication to academics and athletes is second to none. Macy demonstrates the five cores’ values of the NAIA as well as any student-athlete in the conference.”
Isabella Lund – Montana Western – Junior – Tumwater, Wash.“She embraces the five core values of a Champion of Character,” said Britt Cooper. “Isabella is extremely involved in the community and clubs on campus. She is the most competitive person you will meet, but she does it with respect for her teammates, officials, and competition. We can always count on her to do the right thing when no one is looking.”
Katelynn Forner – Montana State University-Northern – Senior – Camas, Wash.“Katelynn has participated in over fifteen (15) community service projects and campus activities this school year,” said Chris Mouat. “She is the first person to step forward and volunteer any time something is needed. She brings a great attitude and energy to all that she does.”
Hayleigh Smith – Providence – Sophomore – Charlo, Mont.“She works hard on the court and in the classroom,” said Bill Himmelberg. “Hayleigh gives her best in all she does and exemplifies a true champion as well as a Champion of Character representing the Argos of the University of Providence!”
Tailyn Black – Rocky Mountain – Sophomore – Bozeman, Mont.“She is a great teammate who always has a smile on her face,” said Wes Keller. “Tailyn is a team-first player, who takes on any role we ask of her. She is always the first to volunteer when something is needed for the benefit of the program and is a fitting candidate for this award.”
