The 2024-25 Frontier Conference Men’s Basketball Champions of Character recipients, presented by WinWon Technologies, were announced before each team’s contest at the postseason tournament on March 2-3, held at Pacific Steel & Recycling Arena in Great Falls, Mont.

Each recipient received a Champions of Character plaque from Frontier Conference’s commissioner Dr. Scott Crawford.

The head coach from each Frontier Conference member selects the recipient that fits to the NAIA’s Champions of Character initiative program’s five cores that include integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.Below are the recipients for the Champions of Character and the comments from each school’s head coach:

James Lang – Carroll – Redshirt Junior – Portland, Ore.“James has been an integral part of the culture at Carroll and has withstood three coaching transitions with the type of character that this award aims to highlight,” shared by head coach Dan Pearson.  “He is diligent, responsible, and has been a servant-leader for the group since I met him in the interview process. James is stellar in the classroom, court, and community.  James is a great Carroll College Saint.”

Jacob Ankeny – Montana Western – Junior – Marsing, Idaho“He exemplifies the five core values of the NAIA both on and off the court,” emphasized head coach Patrick Jensen.  “He always acts with integrity and respects everyone around him. He excels in the classroom and is always the first to volunteer to help others out. Jacob is a tremendous role model on and off the court and backs this up with all his actions.”

Jacob Randall – Montana State University-Northern – Senior – Lewisville, Texas“Jake has been an outstanding representative of the NAIA, our region, and our university through his positive contributions, great attitude, and consistent effort both on and off the court,” said head coach Shawn Huse.  “He has worked diligently as an RA and Assistant Athletic Trainer, while being an active participant in various community service, local, and campus events.”“He always gives 100 percent effort in practice and in games, whether he is on the court or encouraging his teammates from the bench,” added Huse.  A senior this year, Jake’s presence and impact will leave a lasting impression on our program, our community, and Montana State University - Northern.”

Britt Murray – Providence – Junior – Harrisburg, Ore.“He is highly respected by his teammates, coaches, professors, and all members of the University of Providence community,” said head coach J.C.
